This is the project of Roberto Oliván, a young winemaker from Álva who belongs to the new generation of young oenologists from La Rioja.

The wine comes from several separate parcels made up exclusively of old bush vines (up to 110 years old) in the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria Mountains. It is primarily Tempranillo, but up to 20% Viura (white) is used to add freshness. Just 8000 bottles are made.

Right of the bat we loved the old school label, an homage to his grandfather. But we were even more impressed when we tasted the wine. Full of dark rich Tempranillo fruit but very balanced and drinkable no doubt due to the addition of the Viura grape.
