I don’t want to spend too much time on the history of the wine (it is part of the L ‘Elise-Clinet stable), but what I do want to do is talk about the vintage and drinkability. I have read a ton on the 2022 vintage, originally considered a ‘Solar’ or ripe vintage that is really anything but. A warm growing season and rain at the right time lead to almost a perfect season with great acid and body. There is a ton of chatter on-line, with people drinking some of the finest wines of the vintage and saying that they are ready to go… What? This is Bordeaux? read below….

Well, we tasted this wine yesterday and what struck me was how easy it was to drink, no hard edges, no harsh tannin, somewhat full bodied but no overripe notes to speak of, really just a pleasant, smile inducing wine that made me think of sitting outside and enjoying the sun. This has great acid with really delicious red fruit, not overly complex at this point, but I can see this in the cellar for 10-20 years…easy. I want to put a 6 pack in my cellar…. I can’t recommend this highly enough and with the SWS discount applied, $34 is a steal for this wine. (Jason)
