As wine merchants we are aware that there are moments in life where a glass of wine is not appropriate, or even possible. But finding an alternative that comes even kind of close to wine has been tough. The best have been some tea based drinks. But when we tasted this little gem, to a person we said that we would happily drink it. What “this” is is a 100% juice (no additives) made from Gelber Muskateller organically farmed hand picked grapes. The fact that the family also makes excellent wines really shows in this juice. It has great fruit but is not very sweet. Most importantly there is excellent acidity.

Here is a great description in their own words: “Our recommendation: This juice makes a wonderful pairing for salty crackers, asparagus, grilled scallops and oysters. It also harmonises splendidly with quiche, cream cheese, wild garlic gratin or sweet desserts. We also recommend it as an aperitif – whichever you prefer, but best enjoyed pure and chilled in a large wine glass.”
