It has long been known amongst Bordeaux drinkers that the "second “ wine of the top Chateau is where value can often be found, That is especially true in top vintages such as 2022.

This wine, a blend of about ⅔  Merlot and ⅓ Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic. It has the attributes of the excellent vintage but does not require the bottle age of the “first” wine. That means you can drink it this fall and winter.

There is a hedonistic quality to this wine but it is balanced by a freshness and just-right structure that jumped out of the glass when I tasted this. It was mouthfilling and showed plenty of richness, and there was an elegance I really liked.
