Pertois-Lebrun ‘Extravertie’ NV - Champagne France

Brothers Antoine and Clement Usher are the next incarnation of this 100+ year old estate based in the Cotes des Blancs. The brothers are a typical story these days, next generation takes over, converts to organic principles and breaks out the estate into micro plot, micro lot production. Their vineyard holdings equate to 9.5 hectares, 44 plots in total spread between Cramant, Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, Chouilly and Oiry.

This cuvée, ‘L’Extravertie’ comes from Grand Cru vineyards and is 100% Chardonnay which is aged on the lees for 10 months in stainless steel and oak barrels followed by 3-4 years sur latte balanced with 2.5g dosage. This Champagne opens with a hint of brioche, followed by white flowers, chalk and faint apple. Classic Champagne to pair with Oysters, Scallops or just a rainy Friday night. (Jason)
